Financial Career and Jobs

Begininng a Finance Career can be challenging, but very rewarding. Jobs in the Financial Industry cover a wide spectrum of choices and functions. The key is education and exposure to where the job openings are.

Finance is a very broad area in the employment sector. Career opportunities could be found in Banking, Securities firms, Insurance or other financial institutions. Perhaps you are looking to become a CPA or CFP.

Where do I begin a Finance Career?

First, consider where your interests lie. Do you want to deal with clients on Investments?, then you should consider a career as a broker or investment advisor. These careers can be very profitable, but they carry instability of income, especially in the early years. These finance jobs are also largely commission or percentage based. Acquiring new customers to invest with you is your greatest challenge. Fincnacial Advisors and brokers can make a wonderful and exciting living, but you must have the "stomach" for rejection and the "ups and downs" of the market.

What about other jobs?

Education is the key to finding good non-broker or sales jobs. Most finance jobs require a 4 year degree. Beyond that, employers are looking for CFA - Chartered Financial Analysts, CPA's or other designations as qualifications. Seeing what the employers are looking for is a large part of it as well. See what designations are requested most and consider getting them. We provide finance job links and educational resources to begin your quest in the finance industry.
